This little girl stole my heart, I would have given anything to see that she was safe and happy. She lived in a home with her mother, her father probably off with another woman as is common on the island, and their house leaked and the floors were full of holes. And here this little girl sat with broken sandals and a comb. And she smiled so much it almost made me cry. This little girl had nothing and she was the happiest child I've ever seen. The days we spent there I didn't hear her cry once She just sat with her comb and a single domino and smiled.
I wish we could all learn from this one little girl. She stole my heart. |
